In the past the celebration were made were kids and adults dressed themselves as witches and with a broom in their hand would hop around from door to door in the neighborhood asking for tricks or treats, mostly what the kids get are treats which consists of candies and chocolates, in the modern era the costumes have changed from those of traditional witches to those of angry birds and super heroes, kids wear anything they like on this day from that of being scary to that of being a super hero like iron man or superman or changed themselves in their own getup like a mutant.

The word Halloween or Hallowe’en dates to about 1745 and is of Christian origin. The word “Halloween” means “hallowed evening” or “holy evening”. It comes from a Scottish term for All Hallows’ Eve (the evening before All Hallows’ Day), in Scots eve is also termed as even. Over time, (All) Hallow(s) E (v) en evolved into Halloween.
