Reiki is a Japanese technique for reducing stress and promoting relaxation, as it promotes healing. It is believed that an unseen life force energy is flowing through us and is what causes us to be alive.” If one’s life force is low, one is likely to feel sick, and if one’s life force is high, one is capable of being happy and healthy. “Rei” means God’s wisdom or the higher power. “Ki” is a life force energy. So, Reiki is actually a spiritually guided force energy.
Reiki Meditation
The master focuses this life force energy on the ailing person and heals them through meditation and healing techniques. Meditation is the art of quieting one’s mind, listening to the silence, and focusing oneself inward. Prayer is the practice of talking to the divine. Meditation is the practice of listening to the god or the divine within you. This act takes place in special moments set aside for meditation, or, inherently, one must create time for it daily. Usei sensei taught his students Reiki and the Gassho meditation. Gassho means two hands coming together. Students who want to meditate the Reiki way must sit in the Gassho position every morning and evening, still their minds, and cultivate single-pointed focus.
One has to place one’s hands in prayer position, close one’s eyes, and bring all one’s awareness to the tip of the middle finger or the thumb. When one’s mind starts to wander, one must press the fingers of one’s hand together and refocus. One then begins praying for oneself, others, and the planet. Next, one sends distant Reiki to all those who have requested it.

Reiki Healing And Reiki Therapy
Reiki treats the whole person, including one’s body, emotions, mind, and spirit, creating many positive effects, including feelings of peace, security, and general well-being. Reiki is a simple, natural method of spiritual healing that promotes self-improvement. It has helped with all known illnesses and maladies and always creates a beneficial effect. It works as an adjunct to other medical therapies. The ability to practice Reiki therapy cannot be learnt; it is simply transferred to a student during the class.
It is passed through rapport between the master and the student, allowing him to tap into an abundant supply of life force energy and use it to heal others from distant places by simply meditating and passing it on.
Reiki and the Role of Life Force Energy
Reiki healing does not depend on one’s intellectual or spiritual capability. It is available for everyone. It is spiritual in nature and not a religion. One is alive because of one’s life force that flows through oneself and around one’s body in a field of energy called the “aura.” This life force nourishes one’s body and supports its vital functions. When this internal force is depleted, it causes a malfunction.
Reiki can be used for healing only by people who are attuned to it. One must understand that the mind exists in the brain and throughout the body; therefore, negative thoughts collect in the aura and restrict the flow of “Ki.” This noninvasive technique is becoming increasingly popular in investigating alternative healing methods. Reiki is destined to play an important role.
